06/09/19 – Acts 7:1-29; Psalm 127:1-5; Proverbs 16:28-30

In Acts 7 as Stephen reviews the history of the nation of Israel two verses caught my mind:

Acts 7: “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him 10 and rescued him from all his troubles.

Acts 7:  25 Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.

Do you see in these verses what I consider a parallel to the life of Jesus?  Just as the patriarchs responded to Joseph the leaders of Israel were jealous and felt threatened by Jesus.  And just as Moses came to physically “rescue” the people Jesus offers spiritual salvation.  And neither were recognized.
