01/10/20: Genesis 25-27; Matthew 7

Matthew 7 concludes Jesus “sermon on the mount” and one instruction emphasizes the importance of being an “active” and not “lazy” believer.

Matthew 7Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

The verb tense used for the highlighted words does not mean just “ask, and knock” one-time.  Indeed the Greek words mean “keep on” asking, seeking & knocking. To do so requires consistent prayer and faith.
