12/18/19: Revelation 9:1-21; Psalm 137:1-9; Proverbs 30:10
Revelation 9:1-19 is certainly an image of suffering brought upon those who do not know the Lord. Then verse 20 reminds me so much of what we see in the history of the Nation of Israel — whether they were blessed for obedience or punished for their sins the Nation returned to their evil ways and did not obey:
Revelation 9: 20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
A thought for us is that when we repent we dedicate our lives to the Lord out of love. And we demonstrate that love through obedience and following His will.
