9/10/19: 2 Corin. 11:16-33; Psalm 54:1-7; Proverbs 23:1-3

When reading 2 Corinthians 11 we certainly need to keep in mind the historical perspective.  As we have seen the Corinthian church had been vulnerable to false teachings of men who claimed to be “greater” apostles than Paul.  So, Paul’s “boasting” is more to remind the church of his divinely given authority than it is to laud his own accomplishments.

And as he listed his multiple physical abuses I was struck by the description of not only his sacrifices but the true love & dedication he had for the spiritual health of the believers.  For he stated:

2 Corinthians 11: 2Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?

As I read Psalms 54 today and I think of David‘s prayer in this song I picture him in his temple worshiping our God with other believers as we do in our churches today. Try to put yourself in the SCENE when we read our bibles daily the New Testament and Old Testament.
Picture yourself in the temple and are honoring our Lord it says that he’s he sustains us and were to praise his name.
God deliver us from all our troubles it says so we need to wait patiently.
    Thank you Lord Jesus!
