9/7/19: 2 Corin 9:1-15; Psalm 51:1-19; Proverbs 22:24-25

Sometimes the simplicity and wisdom of Proverbs is striking.

Proverbs 22:24-25

24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person,
do not associate with one easily angered,
25 or you may learn their ways
    and get yourself ensnared

Can’t we just replace “hot tempered” with “deceitful,” “immoral,” “thieving,” or any other bad attribute and retain the same advice?  There are certainly role models for exemplary and spiritual living and, just as certainly, the are role models that can lead us into a life apart from God.

As the author of Proverbs has often implied  — it is up to us to “choose wisely.”
