Hebrews 12

As we read this chapter we are faced with a powerful “therefore!” The writer has built his case and it is a powerful one. I challenge you as read this chapter to step back and hear what the writer is telling us. Keep moving forward, whatever you have to face might be hard as you strive to remain faithful but do not back down, keep in the race. For we are on the winning side, we just have to have faith this is true! So, let us give thanks for our wonderful salvation for we have won if we do not neglect this amazing gift!! ‚ÄúTherefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe”

Out of all scripture there are two images that stand out so personally in these passages — the two mountains. Inspired by the Holy Spirit the author pens a marvelous word image of Mt Zion and why we want to be there — not just for “climb and the view” but for the company of saints who will be there with us.

I think about the trails I deal with in my life, many of them self created, God allows because He loves me not because He wants to harm me . even the trials that come to me without my participation teach me to trust and show me where my peace lies. They are still a growing experience. How much more should I be motivated out of love to stay focused on the goal? He has given me all the tools I need including the power to accomplish the goal. I just have to stay plugged in and turned on.
