Our Beliefs
We hold these beliefs as representative of our understanding of God and Christ.
We believe in God the Father, almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and is our sole authority for truth.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
We believe in the concept of the Trinity. God is one being existing in three co-eternal, co-equal persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are distinct yet share the same divine essence or nature.
We believe that Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit to a virgin, Mary.
We believe that Jesus walked the earth, cast out demons, stilled the storms, healed the sick, and raised the dead.
We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, died on the cross, and was placed in a tomb.
We believe that on the third day Jesus arose from the dead, appearing to many witnesses before he ascended back to Heaven to be with His Father.
We believe that Jesus is now ruling in His kingdom.
We believe that Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead.
We believe that those found guilty will suffer punishment and those found faithful will receive eternal life.
We believe all have sinned and are in need of salvation.
We believe that salvation cannot be earned and is solely received via an act of grace by God.
We believe salvation is offered to all, who through faith, repent of their sins, confess that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God, and are baptized for remission of their sins.
We believe that baptism is a burial, reflecting the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that those who are baptized receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as a seal of their salvation. As described by Jesus, the Holy Spirit is a Helper, a Comforter, a Teacher, and the Spirit of Truth
We believe that when one is saved, God adds them to the body of Christ, the church.
We believe in the unity of believers in Christ’s one body, the church, based on the authority and guide of God’s word as its pattern.
We believe that the church is a community called forth from the world by God and charged to support and encourage one another.
We believe that the church is to gather on the first day of each week to worship God together through singing, praying, the teaching of God’s word and communing together in partaking the Lord’s Supper.
We believe that the head of the church is Christ and that each local fellowship is to be overseen by men who have met the qualifications set forth in scripture to be elders, pastors, or bishops (all of which are terms for the same group of men.)
We believe that Satan is always at work and that the possibility of apostasy and false teaching is an ongoing threat to the church.
We believe that the mission of the church is to seek and save the lost and to help God’s children mature in Christ.
What To Expect During Worship
Summary
Friendliness: You can expect a warm, safe, and friendly welcome.
Lord’s Supper: You can expect us to partake of the Lord’s Supper on the first day of every week [Sunday].
Order: You can expect our service to be with reverence and order.
Simplicity: You can expect our worship to be simple. Jesus taught that worship was to be spiritual and according to truth (John 4:24)
Singing: You can expect congregational singing. The purpose of our songs is to praise God, to teach and admonish one another through our singing (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians. 3:16).
Prayer: You can expect a time of public prayers (1 Timothy 2:8-13).
Giving: You can expect us to give a free-will offering. When the offering is taken, it is entirely the choice of our guest whether they will give an offering or not.
Teaching: You can expect Christ-centered Bible teaching in our classrooms and pulpits. We encourage you to check what we say by searching the scripture (Acts 17:11). At the close of each sermon you can expect an invitation to enjoin in prayer for needs and, more importantly, to become part of God’s Kingdom.
