Jerry and Liz Hiatt
Born and raised in a mill-town in Southwestern Virginia, Jerry and Liz relocated to Cape Cod in 1986. The Hiatts have been married since 1977 and are blessed with three daughters and six grandchildren (all under the age of 7.) Liz was raised in the church and her example led Jerry to the Lord in 1978. Due to Jerry’s job the Hiatts moved six times in the nine years before settling on Cape Cod. On the Cape and at other churches both Jerry and Liz have taught multiple Bible classes to all ages, provided individual Bible studies, coordinated fellowship, and supported outreach activities.
Before retiring in 2020, Jerry worked in the nuclear power industry as a Certified Health Physicist where he consulted on radiation protection activities for industry workers and the environment. Jerry traveled frequently and has consulted at every nuclear facility in the United States and multiple sites in other countries. Jerry’s hobbies include playing softball, reading, listening to bluegrass music, and traveling with Liz. His favorite Bible book is James, and his favorite verses are Philippians 4:6-7.
Liz worked as an interior designer before stopping to stay at home and care for the family. After the children had grown Liz again applied her design skills, working at a quilting design shop. Her current hobbies include gardening, quilting, coordinating the Ladies Book club and providing meals to others in need. Liz’s favorite Bible book is the Gospel of John and her favorite verses are Romans 8:38-39.

Jim and Linda Saffle
Jim and his wife, Linda, live with their three children in Sandwich. Jim is a software engineer for a medical device subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson while Linda works for Best Buddies International providing employment support for individuals with disabilities. Their daughter is a Spanish teacher, their older son works for Cape Cod Healthcare, and their younger son is in college. Jim and Linda volunteer for local Scouting and events for people with special needs. Together with their children, they enjoy traveling, skiing in Vermont, going to the beach, hiking, watching movies, and a good ice cream shop.

Tom and Carine Wooton
Tom and Carine have been attending Cape Cod church of Christ with their family since 2011. Prior to moving to the Cape, they worked as international teachers in Turkey for 9 years. Carine is originally from Lyon, France and has taught high school French language for the past 20 years. Tom is a history teacher at Sturgis Charter Public School. They have two kids, Hugo and Eloise who are both bi-lingual French/ English. Hugo has been active in Scouting since 2014, and Eloise is an excellent artist who is very involved in school leadership. As a family, the Wootons enjoy traveling, cooking, and eating together as a family.

Daniel Risser
Daniel Risser moved to the Cape to work with the church in August of 2023. He grew up in Bethel, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in May 2023 and previously worked in retail and in a foundry. He has served churches in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and Massachusetts, and has spent several summers working at Christian Camps. Daniel enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and hitting the gym!
One of Daniel’s favorite verses is Proverbs 16:9 – “In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”
